CAVE had 18 months previously designed, supplied & installed an Audio Visual system c/w Home Cinema for this client. We were delighted when our clients asked us to get involved at the start of their renovation plans on a very large five storey town house close by.
Brief
To have music in most rooms, but without speakers on show in the formal areas. Have all the switching and non-user equipment hidden away in a central area with just the latest 4K OLED Smart TV’s & 4K project in the cinema on show. Control of the AV system & lights to be from local iPads & clients iPhones. Above all, make the functionality very user friendly and very robust. CCTV was brought into the design later in project also, covering the external doors & a secure internal system for monitoring the children’s bedrooms. CAVE was able to supply, install & view the CCTV and allow it to viewed on any of the house screens & from any IOS device when away from the house.
CAVE worked very closely with the architect & builders and provided full cabling schematics for the electrical contractor to run the AV cables all over the house.
Invisible speakers
In the formal areas CAVE supplied and installed Sonance invisible speakers and subs that are installed during 1st phase of the project and plastered over use special plaster at a very strict level. The result of this is fantastic multi room sound around the rooms but keeping the formal ceiling design features.
Kitchen / Playroom
This basement area is the main family area & heart of the house. At one end is the Playroom zone c/w with 55” LG 4K OLED Smart TV & music zone. The other end is the informal dining area with a Samsung Ultra Smart TV. Both TV’s are on articulated wall brackets. The speakers in the basement area are high spec In ceiling speakers split into two zones.
Cinema
Leading on from the family area is a compact room that the client was very keen to use as a cinema. With some clever design we were able to install a JVC 4K projector, Sonance In Wall LCR speakers behind a custom-made fix framed acoustic projection screen. The JC Project was housed in a custom-made bulkhead, that also housed the In ceiling rear speakers & sub-woofer. Result is a stunning small but perfectly formed cinema that can also double as a guest bedroom.
Lighting
On the ground floor CAVE supplied and installed 24 Mode controlled lighting circuits which are either controlled by wall keypads with custom buttons or via the RTi iPad App.
RTi Control system & AV equipment
All the main AV distribution, amplifiers & 3rd party source equipment is all housed in an equipment rack located in very compact cupboard under the stairs. All video, audio, speaker & control signals & cabling go in & out of this rack, included the switch for the 4No Ruckus WIFI access points installed on all levels of the house to give a secure & reliable network.
